WHAT IS A KETTLEBELL?

A kettlebell is based on a traditional Russian cast iron weight in the shape of a flat-bottomed cannonball with a hoop-handle attached. The off-centre out-of-hand weight creates a unique momentum and leverage which challenges deep stabiliser muscles in the body as well as more familiar muscle groups. Kettlebells come in different weights ranging from 4kg to 40kg. There are hundreds of exercises you can do with this one bit of kit so you will never get bored. Kettlebells are very effective, they are versatile, simple, indestructible, easy to use, interactive, time efficient, great for beginners and relatively inexpensive.
